  5. John, V.I. A Yale drama professor and Broadway director (the 1988
  6. revival of A Streetcar Named Desire), Psacharopoulos made
  7. Williamstown, which he helped to found in 1955, the beloved summer
  8. camp of the American stage. Dozens of top actors earned a pittance
  9. for the pleasure of performing the classics without commercial
  10. pressures.
